After playing thousands of weddings, both with rain forecasts and without, we have some tricks up our sleeves on how to handle this less-than-ideal situation. 1. Check your Wedding Contracts for a Rain Clause
The first piece of advice we have is to check your contracts with your Philadelphia wedding vendors. There should be rain clauses in each of your contracts. If not, inquire about what their policies are and think about this before signing the dotted line!
When it comes to live wedding musicians, we know better than anyone how tricky it is to keep everyone safe when it comes to rain. Music equipment such as string instruments can get damaged very easily, and electricity, which is required for all of our Philadelphia wedding bands, can be compromised. Knowing the potential weather ahead of time can change how transport is arranged or how your guests choose to dress for the evening. Although you and your partner are the star of the show, you want your guests to have just as much fun at your wedding reception! Some great ideas we’ve seen work for guests are extra umbrellas for them to use, flip flops for the ladies, or heel blockers if you’re in a grassy area.
